Letters from Members

＊Four years ago, I transferred from Tokyo to my hometown to take care of my parents with dementia.

It is so hard to both work and care for my parents that I took unpaid leave twice. It adversely impacted on my household economy and my career. My parents refuse to live in elderly care facilities and I have been beset with problems from all sides. I am asking AAJ to make a proposal to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to revise the law in order to be able to realize the simultaneous pursuit of both work and care. He cannot speak and can only yell to express his feelings. It is painful for me to see

him who looks like he is living with only his appetite. Every day I encourage myself to imagine that

the former healthy and intellectual father is watching me to take care of the present father.
