AAJ HEADQUARTERS UPDATE <\/strong><\/p>\n *World Alzheimer\u2019s Day Events<\/p>\n -Growing awareness about dementia across Japan-<\/p>\n AAJ headquarters and the chapters hosted various World Alzheimer\u2019s Day events , which included lecture meetings, street campaigns, and information booth on street corners, all over Japan in September. Despite dealing with their own difficulties, the chapters in the disaster area of the Great East Japan Earthquake as well as the area flooded by the destructive typhoon in September also promoted the events. Ishitobi<\/p>\n -In the period at the end of life, they are not dying because they do not eat but they do not eat because they are preparing to die.-<\/p>\n 3. LETTERS FROM MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n *My wife was diagnosed with Dementia at the age of 54 and is 62 years old now. Through exceptional management she is going to daycare center for people with schizophrenia because the daycare center for the elderly does not suit her condition and age. She maintains a stable condition. But she has to find another place because she is not diagnosed with schizophrenia. We need a special facility for the younger people with dementia.\u00a0\u00a0 (66-year-old man)<\/p>\n *I am a carer of my 92-year\u2013old mother-in-law. Our house was completely destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake in March and we were exhausted and depressed. Then, I had a phone call and received consolatory money. I could not stop crying. He is delivering vegetables to customers with support from the daycare staff. His smile and jokes make customers happy. He gets $5 for the work, according to a newly prescribed rule by the Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare, which had been proposed by AAJ.<\/p>\n\n\n
