but by and by I came to be conscious of her state that I could not see directly as a family member and the friction of the staff relationship.\u00a0 I was sometimes overcome with the situation.\u00a0 I tried to see her as another.\u00a0 However, if I could do so, I would feel sad as her granddaughter.\u00a0 Though I cannot compete with the other staffs technically, I can catch the residents\u2019 feelings all the better.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to regard their state of Alzheimer sufferers as their whole personality, but I want to think much of the long way of experiences.<\/p>\n<p>(2) To Mr. I. who is wandering whether or not he should leave his mother in a facility<\/p>\n<p>(Tokyo.\u00a0 Mrs. M.\u00a0 53 years old)<\/p>\n<p>It is 6 and half years since we received my mother-in-law to our home.\u00a0 She became needing care 5 by this year\u2019s acknowledgement.\u00a0 My husband is a salaried man just like you and 55 years old as you.\u00a0 So I have to take care of her by myself.\u00a0 She does not have incontinence or railing.\u00a0 As to toilet, I just change her towel and clean the floor after she uses it.\u00a0 When she came to live with us, she gave me a memo: \u201cI want to leave my daughter-in-law\u201d or \u201cI want to be happy, as I feel very lonely everyday.\u201d\u00a0 I felt like crying, as I care her to my best.\u00a0 My husband cries out every night, \u201cHurry!\u00a0 Hurry!\u201d to her, because she has become slow in every motion.\u00a0 As I am a bride, I hesitate to cry out.\u00a0 If I cry out, I will heart myself later.<\/p>\n<p>The most bitter thing is that my own parents cannot come to see their grandchild, nor can visit my parents\u2019 home.\u00a0 It seems to me your mother had better enter a group home in order that your wife will not damage her body any more.\u00a0 You can visit the group home every day.\u00a0 I am waiting for my husband\u2019 words, \u201cWe will leave my mother in a facility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(3) I cannot take care of my children, because I need much time to care both my mother and my mother-in-law.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Kyoto.\u00a0 Mrs. T.\u00a0 46 years old.)<\/p>\n<p>I have just finished the first anniversary of my father who was suffering Pick\u2019s disease.\u00a0 I was especially loved by him, so I cannot but cry and can utter any words when we talk about him.<\/p>\n<p>At present I have to be energetic to raise my two children: one is the son(a third- year pupil of a junior high school ) and the other is the daughter(a fourth-year pupil of a primary school).\u00a0 Moreover, my mother (needing care 2) and my mother-in-law(having not yet applied) are constantly in and out of hospital.\u00a0 They need medical treatment at home too.\u00a0 So I am always involved with their care.\u00a0 My daughter is still too young to sympathize with them, though she can understand the situation in her mind.\u00a0 She says, \u201dI have to be patient all the time.\u00a0 You should be more sensitive to my feelings.\u201d\u00a0 Children are growing day by day.\u00a0 As I am their mother, I want to have a good time with my children.\u00a0 In spite of the fact, my mother- in-law(I am the only bride) complains of making use of long\u2013term care insurance.\u00a0 I am worried how I can get her understanding.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">On the change of the name of the \u201cFamily groups (AAJ)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(1) I agree with the change ( Hyogo.\u00a0 Mr. Y.)<\/p>\n<p>I think the name should be \u201cso and so family groups (AAJ).\u201d\u00a0 Most of the family members believe \u201cI know the sufferers best of all.\u00a0 I can do anything for the sake of him.\u201d\u00a0 Certainly it is true, but sometimes there is a conflict between him and me.\u00a0 Even more, it is possible that he is in a pressure cooker just because of my existence.\u00a0 I myself have been realized for the past 10 years.\u00a0 It would be better for the family to realize its own position.<\/p>\n<p>It seems to me that the special meeting of the sufferers should be better constituted in the \u201cFamily groups (AAJ).\u201d\u00a0 Maybe the meeting will be independent of the \u201cFamily groups (AAJ).\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anyway I think the name of \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s Association\u201d which sounds like the core of the meeting is not appropriate; because this \u201cFamily groups (AAJ)\u201d has become \u201cthe meeting of the families only.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(2)\u00a0 \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s Association\u201d should consisted of the families. Mrs. Q.)<\/p>\n<p>Last year we listened to the speeches of the sufferers at the International Conference.\u00a0 After that other sufferers also began to speak here and there.\u00a0 Ours has changed to be \u201cthe meeting of the families only.\u201d\u00a0 Now is it the time when we should reconsider changing the name?<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Information of \u201cthe \u201c21<sup>st<\/sup> All Japan Research Meeting for<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Encouraging the Support of Alzheimer Sufferers and Their Families\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The theme: <strong>the Families, People, and Society (in order that sufferers can live wherever <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>they want, given a high quality care.)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please come and live to Gunma prefecture whose shape is just like cranes are dancing.<\/p>\n<p>There is the vast Kanto Plane in the south of Maebashi, capital of the prefecture.\u00a0 We have such spas as Kusatsu, Minakami, and Ikaho in the north.\u00a0 We are going to open the All Japan Research Meeting in Gunma prefecture where we have the mountain ranges such as Asama, Tanigawa, Oze, Nikkoshirane.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s reconsider \u201cAlzheimer\u201d which is assuming a new aspect day by day and try to understand the feelings of sufferers and their families, living with them in the society.\u00a0 We could invite the proper persons for keynote lectures and a case announcement.\u00a0 We believe you can enjoy calm and rich nature of Gunma prefecture after you have studied.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to see you. without trouble in order not forget.\u00a0 It seems to me that she has been fighting against another self whose forgetfulness has been growing.<\/p>\n<p>(2)\u00a0 \u201cI want to help you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The husband of the woman (Aichi chapter), who belongs in the Consultation<\/p>\n<p>Meeting of Dementia of Early Onset, said so.\u00a0 The woman wrote as follows:<\/p>\n<p>If my husband cannot act as he likes it, he starts to cry.<\/p>\n<h3>The Gathering of Pia- counseling of\u00a0 Wakayama Chapter<\/h3>\n<p>We are caring on the gathering of the people who are caring the sufferers of dementia of early onset and of the beginning of Alzheimer disease.\u00a0 It takes two years to have a lunch in the home-like atmosphere, which we make for ourselves.\u00a0 The sufferers and the family members spend the time in the separated rooms.<\/p>\n<p>According to the telephone consultation since 2003, there is almost no special support for sufferers and their caregivers.\u00a0 So a lot of them are worried alone at home.\u00a0 We began this activity for supporting these people.<\/p>\n<p>About three sufferers of the beginning of Alzheimer disease join us every time, taking
